The government is launching a system to enable individuals caught in the dilemma to seek needed assistance from competent authorities.
The Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele has announced that the government is now adopting newer resulted-oriented measures as it embarks on a challenge to final lasting solution to the persistent double identities crisis and difficulties in obtaining national identity cards. According to the police boss, the institution is now focused on making available a streamlined process designed to enable individuals caught in the dilemma to seek assistance from competent authorities.
The Delegate General made the announcement in an outing last week as the police body continues its strides toward resolve the issues of double identities and national identities which has affected thousands of Cameroonians in recent years, leading to complications from citizens on challenges in accessing essential services in the sector. To tackle this pressing concern, Mbarga Nguele in the outing last week, called on individuals facing such challenges to come forward and provide their contact information, email addresses, and other relevant details at various Regional Delegations for National Security.
The initiative, the police boss said, aims to facilitate prompt follow-up and resolution for those struggling with double identities challenges or those encountering obstacles in acquiring national identity cards. By encouraging citizens to report their issues directly to the authorities, experts say the government is taking a proactive stance in ensuring that every Cameroonian can obtain their rightful identification without undue hardship.
Mbarga Nguele emphasized the importance of a unified national identity system as a cornerstone of national security and citizen rights. Per the Delegate General, the government recognizes that having a reliable form of identification is crucial for participating fully in society, accessing public services, and exercising one’ s rights. Those affected, he said, are urged to take advantage of this opportunity to resolve their issues.
The government’s commitment to addressing these concerns reflects a broader effort to enhance public trust in the national identification system and promote inclusivity, according to experts. As Cameroonians step forward to rectify their identity challenges, many believe the initiative represents a significant stride towards a more secure and equitable society, where every citizen can confidently access their rights and services without fear of bureaucratic.
