In a recent conference which rounded up in last weekend, Bishops in Cameroon frowned over the current struggling state of the country.
The seminar’s theme “Living Synodality in Our Local Church.” Archbishop Fuanya elaborate on the challenges that the country has been facing, including political instability, economic difficulties and social unrest. The archbishop in the statement did not only touch on the challenges that Cameroonians are facing but also called on the people to live in unity. He emphasized the need for unity and collaboration among the different regions and ethnic groups in the country to overcome these challenges. The man of God also highlighted the role of the Church in promoting peace and reconciliation in the country.
He stressed the importance of living in solidarity, which is a way of governing the Church that emphasizes collaboration and participation of all members, in the local church. In his address at the gathering, Archbishop Fuanya on his part, also called for greater engagement of the Church in addressing the social and economic challenges facing the country. He urged the Church to play a more active role in promoting education, healthcare, and social justice in the country.
