Following a warm welcome, the author briefly introduced her book, which was published in Paris, France, in 2023. Spanning 137 pages and divided into nine chapters, the novel’s central characters include Diane, David, and Lea. The narrative focuses on the challenges faced by Diane and her daughter, Lea, following the death of David, Diane’s husband and Lea’s father.
In the story, David leaves behind a business for Diane to manage. Despite her grief over her husband’s passing, Diane is forced to take control of the company. Adding to her struggles, David’s family repeatedly harasses her. While grappling with these difficulties, Diane falls ill but finds solace in her daughter Lea’s unwavering support. With Lea by her side, Diane recovers and successfully runs the business.
Strength and Fragility at the Heart of Adversity is a fictional work that highlights themes such as self-confidence, resilience, strength, determination, and courage. Oumahani Boubakary, born in Cameroon, earned her GCE A Level before continuing her studies in Tunisia. She later moved to France, where she began her writing career.
